I don't post much on here at all and don't have time to read much of the postings however I just thought I would put on here that my twin boys (both ASD, 3 yrs) have been on Methyl B12 injections for the last 6 weeks and I can see improvement for sure. One of the twins is doing much better than that other and I know it is from the MB12 shots because over the school holidays there has been no therapy/kindy and that is when I started the injections. One of the twins hand leads to everything now, even pushes me in the butt to move to where he wants me to go if I don't hold his hand, for instance when the DVD is frozen, he will find me in the house and pull me to the TV to fix it, he takes me to the pantry to open it to get out what he wants, he is using visuals to tell me what he wants, his eye contact is much better and this is all in 6 weeks. Still no speech however I can't have it all in just 6 weeks.
So for the record a) no they don't hurt, I use numbing cream and I then inject them in the bottom when they are asleep, they never wake up and b) they are $5 per needle every 3rd day so not that expensive and c) no bad side effects ie: has not disrupted their sleep and not overly hypo (well, they have always been hypo)....however every child can respond differently.
Yes, this is a biomedical treatment but sometimes these things can help. For anyone who was like me and wondered about giving this sort of thing a go....all you can do is try. Every child is different.
