Stuttering

By Raising Children Network

Learning to speak is a gradual process.  Along the way, children often have stages (usually between two to five years) when they have difficulty speaking smoothly.

It might take a child a few tries to pronounce a word, or get through a full sentence. The child might stop in the middle of a sentence and start a new one. This is not stuttering. Stuttering begins with more obvious signs of difficulty. For example, your child might often repeat parts of words many times, or draw the sound of a word out. Stuttering can be stressful for children and parents, but it is often possible to work through the problem together.

More information on stuttering will be available very soon. Meanwhile, find out more by visiting the links below.
